Joan Chardonnay 2022

Adelaide Hills, South Australia

Two clones of Chardonnay, 96 and I10V1 were used for this wine. Harvested over two picking about 2 weeks apart, 1st with more lineal acid lines and the 2nd pick showing more abundance of fresh fruit and pithy lemon. Whole bunch pressed to 50% new oak, using an extra tight grain barrel with a light toast to allow for slow maturation. Left in place for 17 months on gross lees and then in bottle for another 10 months. Drink now to 10+ years.
